A |     (ECNS) -- Rio de Janeiro held celebrations for China-Rio de Janeiro Friendship Day, bringing together around 150 representatives from China and Brazil to promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation.    Tian Min, Chinese consul-general in Rio de Janeiro Huang Yehua, chairman of the Brazil-China Center for Innovation in Science and Technology Henrique da Nóbrega, president of the Brazil-China Friendship Association, and representatives from various sectors attended the event.    Tian said China-Brazil relations are going through one of their best moments in history, with a partnership that extends beyond trade to include culture, technology, sustainable development and international political coordination.    Huang highlighted the importance of stable and sustainable bilateral ties amid growing global uncertainties, noting that the two countries could further explore cooperation in innovation and economic development.    Nóbrega stated the Brazil-China Friendship Association will continue to serve as a bridge to promote exchanges and mutual understanding between the two peoples.    The event was also supported by the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Province. B |     (ECNS) -- China’s service exports reached 1.5047 trillion yuan ($223.8 billion) in the first half of 2026, up 17.6% from a year earlier, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce.    Travel service exports climbed 31.1% to 229.2 billion yuan ($34.1 billion), the fastest growth among the five largest service export categories. These services cover tourism, study and medical treatment, with spending by inbound visitors also counted as service exports.    Knowledge-intensive service exports rose 12.8% to 805.67 billion yuan ($119.9 billion), accounting for 53.5% of the country’s total service exports.    Chinese service brands are also expanding overseas. Beverage chain MIXUE has opened more than 4,000 stores across Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand while adapting products to local markets.
